社會資本理論是社會學用來解釋社會關係而建構的概念,其理論體系眾多,本研究採用Coleman社會資本的理論為架構,探討家庭為本位的社會資本與學業成就的關係。依社會資本的理論及因素分析結果,本研究將家庭社會資本界定為八個層面,五項屬於家庭內部的社會資本(父母參與、家庭規範、父母教育期待、行為監督、家庭互動),三項屬於家庭外部的社會資本(父母與學校關係、父母與鄰居關係、父母與親友關係)。本研究以國中三年級學生為對象,所使用的方法為問卷調查法,共有九百五十三位學生參與研究,研究結果證實不同社經地位學生的家庭社會資本有顯著差異,同時家庭背景及家庭結構確實會透過社會資本而影響子女的學業成就。而家庭社會資本的分層面之中,以父母教育期望、家庭互動及行為監督對學業成就的預測力較大。

英文摘要

The theory of social capital is a construction of sociologic concept to interpret social relationships. There are many theory systems about social capital. The aims of this paper are to investigate the relationships among family, social capital and academic achievement with Coleman's theory framework. Based on Coleman's theory and outcomes of factor analysis, the authors identified eight elements of familial social capi-tal. The method of this study is questionnaire survey, and the sample consists of 953 junior high school students. The results of this study are concluded. Students from different social-economic status, show the significant difference in the familial social capital. Meanwhile the variables of family background and family structure via familial social capital influence academic achievement have been confirmed. There are three variables, parental educational expectation, family interaction, and behavior supervision, have bigger power of predict to academic achievement among eight elements of social capital in this framework.
