近十年,政府單位以及民間團體針對於國中小(含幼稚園)兒童進行不少全國性或焦點性的閱讀推廣活動。但是,幾年下來,臺灣參與國際閱讀評比的結果,卻揭露臺灣推廣閱讀仍有不少改善空間。這樣的現象可導因於考試領導教學的觀念深植於學校教育與家庭教育;科技發達的環境,排擠了文字閱讀的空間;少子女化的現象,影響了教養觀,導致孩子缺乏獨立思考的訓練等等。對於生長在如此環境的大學生,已有不少學者大聲疾呼自主思考以及閱讀的重要,但如何規劃適合大學生的閱讀推廣活動,已成了高等教育中棘手的課題之一。目前已有不少研究聚焦高等教育的大一國文以及通識課程進行探討,但在「非正規」閱讀推廣活動的研究仍屬少數。有鑑於此,本文主要透過資料分析,首先整理大學生中文閱讀的狀況與課題。其次為彙整全國 49 所科技大學推動中文能力提升的相關作法。最後則是檢討國立雲林科技大學以晨讀為概念,將閱讀融入服務學習的中文閱讀推廣活動。
In the last decade, there have been national-wide reading activities held by the government and private groups, which were aiming at children in kindergartens, primary schools and junior high schools. However, the results from international assessments (e.g. PISA, PIRLS) are far from satisfaction. This phenomenon might be the result of test-oriented teaching, the rapid development of multimedia, the low birth rate, etc. Concerned about the young generation growing up in this environment, there are many scholars advocating critical thinking and the importance of reading, but the implementationof reading promotion activities in college education has become a thorny issue. Although there are many studies focussing on freshman Chinese or general education courses in higher education, the studies in "informal reading" promotion activities are still few. This paper reviews the characteristics of college students’ Chinese reading strategies and the methods of improving Chinese capability in 49 Universities of Science and Technology in Taiwan. It then focuses on the Chinese reading promotion which integrates the idea of "reading in the morning" into "service-learning" developed by National Yunlin University of Science and Technology.
