W. W. Charters課程理論探究: 兼論Charters與Bobbitt課程理論的異同

本文旨在透過課程史研究中的「巨匠研究進路」,也就是探究課程史上的重大課程思想家的思想及其影響,探討Charters的課程理論,並對其課程理論進行解析與批判。分析的資料包含Charters本人的著作,與探究其課程思想的二手資料。本文首先概述Charters的生平。其次則是從教育工程學、課程建構程序與功能分析法三個面向,解析Charters課程理論的重要內涵。其後根據Charters課程理論的特徵,比較其與Bobbitt課程理論之異同。最後則是闡述Charters對課程研究的貢獻,及其課程理論的缺陷。

英文摘要

The purpose of the paper was to explore Charters’ curriculum theory and to analyze and criticize his curriculum theory through the "old master approach" in curriculum history research. The analysis was based on the works of Charters and second-hand information on the research of his curriculum thoughts. Firstly, this paper depicted Charters’ career. Secondly, this paper analyzed the important connotation of his curriculum theory from the aspects of educational engineering, curriculum construction procedure and function analysis. Then, this paper analyzed the important characteristics of his curriculum theory, and compared it with Bobbitt’s curriculum theory. Finally, this paper illustrated the contribution and deficiency of Charters’ work.
