近年清代糧價研究頗有進展，一為單區個案顯著增加，二為市場整合研究大受青睞。單區個案之中，有幾個省經常以其局部府區納入另一更大範圍中分析，而非以完整省區為單位對待，四川是其一。對於四川市場整合的探索，論者最關注的是該省與外省的關聯，其次是主張四川糧食運輸成本對其市場整合有促進作用。至於四川內部，既有論點主張區內呈現高關聯，並於18世紀形成以成都為該區最高層級中心地、唯一核心的市場網絡。如今糧價數據完整，加上施堅雅(G. William Skinner)曾詳研四川各層級中心地的分布，當進一步以四川省區為單位，檢驗以往論點。本文擷取「清代糧價資料庫」中的四川米價進行實證，結果顯示，關於四川糧食市場網絡的核心，學界長期習於認知的既有論點尚須保守以待。

Recent scholarship on grain prices during the Qing dynasty has advanced along two lines: a marked increase in regional case studies and a growing interest in market integration. Among these regional case studies, several provinces—including Sichuan—are often analyzed not as complete provincial units but as partial prefectures incorporated into larger regional frameworks. Studies of Sichuan’s market integration have concentrated above all on its links with other provinces, and secondarily on the argument that low internal transport costs facilitated integration within the province. On the question of internal integration, scholars have generally posited a high level of interconnectivity across the region, proposing that by the 18th century, a hierarchical market network had taken shape, with Chengdu as its sole core and highest-level central place. Now that complete grain price data is available—and given G. William Skinner’s earlier work on the hierarchical distribution of central places in Sichuan—it is appropriate to reexamine earlier arguments by treating Sichuan as a unified provincial unit. Drawing on Sichuan rice price data from the “Qing Dynasty Grain Price Database,” this study undertakes an empirical reexamination. Its findings suggest that long-standing claims about the core of Sichuan’s grain market network warrant considerable caution.
