明末清初天主教傳華史的研究，不僅能對明清鼎革的時代背景有一更清晰的了解，也可幫助我們對兩個不同文化交會時所出現的調和與衝突，有一更深層的體認與省思。 本文即嘗試對此一領域先前的研究成果做一回顧與分析，尤其偏重於檢討我國學界過去的研究方向與方法。文中也對相關原始文獻的收藏狀況，以及未來發展的可能途徑有所論述。

Researches on the history of Christianity in the late Ming and early Ch'ing dynasties can contribu not only to clear picture of the Ming-Ch'ing cataclysm, but also to a sound under standing of the conflicts and compromises resulted from the contact of two different cultures. This paper reviews previous studies in this field with emphasis on studies by chinese historians. Introduction of the collection of related original materials and discussion of future research directions are also included.
