英文摘要

As a trained psychoanalyst and clinical psychiatrist for over 30 years, the author presents some models of psychotherapy uniquely applicable for Asians. Anaclitic pharmacotherapy is an application of analytic psychotherapy on the patients receiving pharmacological treatments basing on the changes in ego-defense favorable for anaclitic approaches under the effects of drugs. Morita psychotherapy which has been regarded as highly unique for treatments of Japanese neurotic patients for long time, was compared with modified psychoanalytic therapy in light of the impacts of drastic social changes on the changes of syptom-manifestations of neuroses during the past 4 decades in Japan after the World War II. The importance and value of reestablishing or strengthening father-children relationship as well as mother-children one was emphasized in psychotherapy for contemporary Japanese basing on his sensitive observation on the psychopathology of contemporary Japanese families as manifested by declining authority of father figure and the resulted impairment in male indentification particular on the part of sons. Some other methodological issues in psychotherapy relevant for Asians was discussed in some details.
