卜辭中的「易日」雖然與各種氣象用語關係密切，但其本身並不是一個氣象詞語，至少不是一個單純的氣象詞語。據我們對詞義與辭例的考察分析，「易」有「美好」、「平安」之義，而「易日」相當於後世的「吉日」，在卜辭中表示「美好、平安的日子」。日子是否美好平安，當然和天氣的是否晴好有一定聯繫，但是「易日」所指顯然已經超出了具體天氣的限制，因此，即便「下雨」，也不見得不是「易日」，單純的好天氣即便是「啟」，也不見得就一定是「易日」。卜辭中「易齒」的「易」也是「平安」之義，表示王患了齒疾，是否能平安（度過）。卜辭中還有一個「鬼日」，近來被釋為「凶日」，與「易（吉）日」意思正好相反，表示「不美好、不平安甚至遭遇不幸的日子」。

Whether the days are nice and safe day is certainly related to whether the weather is sunny or not. However, the term Yiri(易日) clearly exceeds the specific weather restrictions. Therefore, even if it rains, it is not necessarily Yiri(易 日). Even Qi(啟) that indicate good weather, is not necessarily Yiri(易日). The word Yi(易) in Yichi(易齒) also means “safe”, indicating whether the king can safely pass through a dental illness. There is also a Ghost Day(鬼日) In oracle bone inscriptions, which has recently been interpreted as a “inauspicious day”, with the opposite meaning of YiRi(易日) and “auspicious day”, indicating an unpleasant, unsafe, or even unfortunate day.
