本文梳理2000年以來英文學界關於中國環境史的主要研究成果，旨在辨識近年發展出之重要趨勢與課題。相關研究大致可歸納為五大主題：人類活動所引發的環境退化與對環境變遷的調適、國家災害治理與環境變遷對人類社會的衝擊、帝國多樣的環境治理與自然資源管理、自然資源開發對現代國家建構之作用、環境知識的生產、流通與論爭。本文藉此回顧，不僅呈現中國環境史研究方法的演進，也期望為未來相關研究指出可能的發展方向。

This article surveys major English-language scholarship on Chinese environmental history published since 2000, with the aim of identifying key trends and emerging research topics. The literature reviewed can be broadly organized into five thematic categories: human-induced environmental degradation and human adaptation to environmental changes; state-led disaster governance and the societal consequences of environmental disruption; diverse modes of imperial environmental governance and natural resource management; the role of natural resource development in the formation of the modern state; and production, circulation, and contestation of environmental knowledge. By tracing these developments, the article not only highlights the methodological evolution of the field but also points to promising directions for future research.
