In recent years, with the growing popularity of resistance training, athletes have incorporated it alongside specialized training to enhance their performance. A key issue currently emphasized by coaches, athletes, and sports scientists is how resistance training can improve movement quality and maintain movement speed to achieve optimal training effectiveness. Previous research has shown that emphasizing movement speed during resistance training can help improve strength and power. Recent studies have modified traditional resistance training by dividing single sets into multiple cluster sets with 10-30 seconds of intra-set rest. The findings indicate that cluster set resistance training is more effective than traditional set configurations in enhancing explosive power, significantly reducing the loss of movement speed, fatigue, and lactate accumulation during resistance training.
