個人生涯發展與職業選擇，常取決於個人的自我思維模式或觀念取向；因此，一個人對職業存有的看法和型態，亦乎是影響個人職業選擇與生涯發展的重要因素。是故，發展一套完好的職業價值自我探索工具，就成為發現個人的自我特質，以及個人生涯發展取向之一項不可或缺的法門。 然而，傳統的工作價值量表常會失之於僅顯示個人初表的價值選項而已。若需要更加深入地暸解個人的觀念和態度反應，就要借助於專業輔導人員的協助和釋疑。為此，一套具有多樣化功能，又可以自我操作，以達到內省效果的職業價值探索活動，就成為吾人欲求的策略了。總之，設計一套能自我導引，且又經過電腦系統化的職業價值澄清活動，是為本研究首要的目的；同時，亦為日後逐年增修或評估奠定基礎，期使該電腦化設計臻於更完善的境界，俾利於學生自我探索個人內在職業價值觀念的參考。

Personal career development and career decision making is to determine by the individual thinking style or his direction of self-concept. So that, personal work values concept become more important to ones vocational choice and career development. A self-explored and self-directed instrument on work values clarification is an important tool for the individuals. However, a traditional and a paper-style Work Values Inventory was too simplified and less verified. It also needs further explanation by the professionals, then a person can be insight about the real meaning that he owned. Therefore, a set of self-directed work values clarification program become a necessary tool for a developing individual. Specially, an edited and a computerized self-directed materials would become a nice facilitator for helping individual development. Generally, the main purpose of this study is to design a set of self­directed and a computerized work values clarification program for the secondary students in Taiwan; meanwhile, the study also try to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, that might be the essential purpose of this study, too.
