本文以西周銅器中與土地問題相關的銘文為主要材料，將之與傳世文獻進行綜合討論，建構出西周貴族土地取得與轉讓的總體樣貌，並以此為基礎進而討論西周「王土」的概念與實質。文中除在封建、冊命、賞賜等方面將銘文與文獻進行參證、互補的討論外，並就銅器銘文中幾個具爭議的語詞、土地交換銘文與古代契約的關係、土地交換程序等問題進行探討。

Inscriptions on bronze vessels that deal with land are the principal source for this article. This article discusses the relations between these inscriptions and traditional documents, and explains how the nobility acquired and transferred land during the Western Chou. As well, conceptions of “crown land” and what it actually meant are also discussed. In addition to analyzing these inscriptions and traditional documents concerning feudalism and land bestowed by the king and the relationship between these inscriptions and contracts which were written in books, this articles also discusses such problems as the procedure of transferring land and explains the meanings of some disputed terms.
