抗日戰爭時期蔣介石與汪精衛之間有無明分暗合的關係是中國近代史上一個頗有爭議的問題，本文嘗試從歷史真相、政治權力與文化認知三個不同角度，探討抗戰時期雙簧論與雙簧論述形成背景與發展過程，基本前提是蔣汪雙簧論是否成立不只取決於歷史證據之有無，也要視他人對這件事的態度而定，因此形成的論述內容相當複雜，遠非過去只從單一歷史真相角度研究所能概括。文章首先探討雙簧論在中國歷史文化脈絡下的轉折，以及雙簧論原型的幾個構成要件。其次從汪精衛本人早年參與革命的歷史，看「趙氏孤兒」歷史敘事所包含的若干元素如何在不同時期以不同方式出現在他的思維中，並影響他對政治情勢的判斷與抉擇。接下來以抗戰時期中共如何利用雙簧論述內外分歧的結構特徵，影射國民政府與南京汪政權互通款曲，達到政治宣傳的目的，充分凸顯雙簧論述與民族主義之間錯綜複雜的關係。最後一節討論雙簧論的效應如何反映在淪陷區通敵、策反、與道德沈淪等幾個不同層面。

Despite all the power struggles and political conspiracies that marked the wartime relationship between Chongqing and Nanjing, speculations about a tacit agreement between Jiang Jieshi (Chiang Kai-shek) and Wang Jingwei on some kind of division of labor in resisting the Japanese aggression lingered on. It was not only active collaborators who used this to exonerate themselves from charges of treason and disloyalty, many people in the occupied territories tended to give Wang Jingwei and his followers the benefit of the doubt. By tracing the origin of the ”duet discourse” back to the historical narrative of Orphan Zhao, this essay examines the logic and the development of the Jiang-Wang duet discourse from historical, political, and cultural perspectives.
