新聞裡的罪與罰--報紙與電視新聞如何再現青少年犯罪

本研究分析報紙和電視如何再現青少年犯罪案件，共蒐集民國89年1 月1日至5月31日的七份日晚報252則新聞，及三家電視台同一期間的晚間七 點新聞99則進行分析。 本研究發現，電視和報紙報導的青少年犯罪型態大同小異，兩者均過度報導殺 人、綁票等暴力犯罪案件，並極度重視警方來源，偏重犯罪者的說詞。 新聞媒體報導青少年犯罪新聞時，出現四種偏差，包括統計偏差、常規偏差、處 理偏差和空間偏差。其中電視比報紙更強調不尋常案件的統計偏差，更常譴責犯 罪行為，且更對青少年犯罪新聞做顯著處理。總體來說，兩種媒體都偏重案發時 的報導，輕忽犯罪案件後續的司法程序正義。
英文摘要
How do newspapers and television news make crime‘news'? A coherent theoretical answer can be developed by addressing a number of themes previously marginal to the sociological studies both of news and of social problems. This research offers an analysis of the content of daily news stories on crime, focusing on juvenile delinquency of Taiwan's youth. The results show that the differences between television news and newspapers' are minor, news values between the two media are different. Television news tends to be more social justice oriented than newspapers. Whole media ove叮'eported violent crimes as major crime events in real world, result truly signals that the era of post-modern spectacle has come.
