本文是通過探討中國北方沿運河地區的大米供應情況，驗證王業鍵有關中國北方大米市場整合的理論。這些北方沿運河地區包括了山東省、直隸省的沿河城市和首都北京。筆者期望，透過這個研究，可以較具體地勾畫出十八世紀中國北方的經濟地理。

Through investigating the rice supplies transported on the Grand Canal in North China, this research note evaluates Wang Yeh-chien’s theory of the market integration of rice. The discussion covers the canal cities in the provinces of Shandong and Zhili, as well as Beijing, offering a fuller picture of the economic geography of North China during the eighteenth century.
