本研究的主要目的在探討我國國民教育階段中兒童及青少年自我觀念發展之情形。衡量學生自我觀念之工具爲自我觀念測驗,該測驗係參考田納西自我觀念量表而編製者,可以衡量學生的總自我觀念、自我認定、自我接受、及自我行動等特質。研究對象共2092(男生1033人,女生1059),經過趨向分析後,獲得下列的主要結果: 1.我國國民中、小學九個年級學生的自我觀念特質是屬於積極的,正面的。 2.我國國民中、小學九個年級學生的自我觀念特質分數的平均數,適合用年級爲預測變項的直線迴歸方程式作預測,而不適合用非直線的迴歸方程式作預測。 3.自國民小學四年級至國民中學三年級,學生自我觀念特質分數的平均數,有隨著年級而減低之趨勢,尤以女生者更爲明顯。

This study investigated the developmental trends of self concept characteristics of Chinese children and adolescents. 1033 male students and 1059 female students (included 1-9 graders) from two elementary schools and two junior high schools were selected as subjects The self concept Scale (followed the Tennessee Self Concept Scale) was administered to the subjects in the regular class settings. This study treated the scale scores of self concept scale as criteria, and grade levels as predictors The trend analysis showed that: (1) the mean scale scores of self concept scale are high, which indicated the self concept characteristics of Chinese children and adolescents are sound and positive, (2) the straight regression lines (descending line form) is a good fit to the scale scores of self concept scale predicated by the grade levels, and the nonlinear regression lines are not good ones.
