政治理論與政治學者在政治學社群之建立、維繫、變遷及重建等過程中扮演的角色？本文分為三部分：(一)政治理論與政治學社群：以《新政治思想史》為例，提出「生態」觀點：學術論述是學術社群成員的交往方式與媒介，即是成員之社群關係展現，以釐清理論與社群之互為建構的關係。(二)政治學社群與政治社群：從政治學社群的辨識，誰論出政治理論之生態意涵的第二項脈絡，兩者仍存在著互為建構的關係。(三)生態觀點之應用：以「政治思想史」作為評估與重建政治學社群之基本策略。本文的寫作期望能為學術社群成員之常態論述行為建立起碼的自省基礎，使得學科進步的可能性不致葬送在社群成員的狹隘心態（parochialism)。

This essay intends to present an ecological perspective and apply it to clarify the crucial question: what kind of roles did political theory and political theorists play exactly in the processes of the construction, maintainence, transformation and breakdown of the structure of political science community? There were involved three levels to be examined: 1. Political theory and political science community: Intellectual discourse is the origin and the media between the practitioners of a academic community. This kind of discourse also constructs the specific power relationship between the practitioners. Political science community thus offers the first context for the interpretation of political theories. Also there exists cross-constructive relationship between them. 2. Political science community and political community: Though its differentiation and specialization, political science community did not separate from political community. Through political issues, discourses, and theories, political community became the second indispensable context for the interpretation of political theories. 3. The methodology of “history of political thought,” as a major scheme for evaluating and restablishing political science community. The author offers two tactics for this project: a. As a required course in department of political science. b. As a writing strategy of disciplinary history. The basic intention of this essay was to build the method and defense the necessity of self-reflection of practitioners of political science and political communities and prevent from narrowing the possibilities of the progress of political science by the parochialism of the practitioners themselves.
