余光中強調「縱的繼承」,李白詩歌是其重要的取法對象,而余氏向李白致敬的代表作是〈戲李白〉、〈尋李白〉、〈念李白〉(本論文總稱為「李白三部曲」),因此本論文先運用修辭學「引用格」知識,地毯式地分析「李白三部曲」對李白詩歌的引用情形,共分析出37則;其次根據前面的探討成果,更進一步運用意象學知識,以「典故意象」的角度切入,探究出「李白三部曲」對於李白詩歌不僅有所繼承,更有所開創,其中探討「複合意象」和「主意象、副意象與主旨」時,還輔助運用了章法學、文法學知識。從這樣的考察中可以發現:「李白三部曲」從古典中鎔鑄現代文學的新生命,這才是「縱的繼承」的真正精神,「李白三部曲」可說是一次非常精采的示範。
Yu Kuang-chung accents on “the longitudinal heritage” in respect of poetry. Yu had created three pieces of poems in honor of Lee Po; namely, Chaffing Lee Po, Looking for Lee Po, and Thinking of Lee Po (herein referring to “Lee Po Trilogy”). In the first place, this article employs “the rule of quote” in rhetoric technique to analyze how Yu quoted the progenitor’s poems in his “Lee Po Trilogy”. I totally list 37 examples. Based on the above findings, I apply the science of image to explore the allusive images and conclude that Yu not only has heritage but also originality in his “Lee Po Trilogy”. In discussing the “compound image” as well as “primary, secondary images and motif”, I apply the organization of writing and grammar as accessory. It can be said that Yu creates a new form of modern literature from classics and endows the poetry with new life. “Lee Po Trilogy” is an ideal of “the longitudinal heritage”.
