Secondly, at present, there is no reliable “牽” in the Oracle and Jinwen, and the writing of {牽} should have an earlier source. The oracle “擐” is originally made as “ ” or “ ”, but it can be omitted as“ ”, and the shape is mixed with {牽} as “ ”. In order to distinguish, the sound of “矛” is added. The pronunciation of “矛” here is the handle of the spear “ qín (矝/ )", which is inherited from the bool of Houma League and the bamboo slips of Qin and Han Dynasties.
