傳世文獻記載管叔和蔡叔作亂之後，管叔被殺，而蔡叔或言被殺，或言被 流放。根據清華楚簡《繫年》的記載，管叔和蔡叔均被周公奉周成王之命誅 殺。從古文字字形來看，《左傳》所記「殺管叔而蔡蔡叔」的「蔡」字有可能是 「殺」字在傳抄過程中的誤寫。
英文摘要
The literature hand down from ancient times said that after insurrection, Guanshu was killed, but some said Caishu was killed, the other said was exiled. According to Xinian of Qinghua bamboo, Guanshu and Caishu were both killed by Zhougong. Zuozhuan recorded “kill Guanshu and Cai Caishu”, according to the ancient graph, “Cai” may be the mistake of “Sha” in the process of transcription.
