「卩」與「人」在早期古文字構形中有對立的區別意義，「卩」是跪坐的人形，可以表示跪與敬。有些「卩」在小篆中合併為「人」，致使理據模糊或喪失。根據文字構形的系統性，以「頁」為「䭫首」之「䭫」的本字，「見」為「覲見」之「覲」的本字，形、音、義都能得到合理的闡釋。
