本文以段玉裁〈六書音均表〉為材料，從諧聲材料運用、古韻分部、上古聲調、音變觀念四方面入手，論述段玉裁的古音學研究貢獻，及其對當代學者的啟示，對於百年來古音學發展史，更有重大的影響。另外並提醒研究者應當注意區分不同的時間層次，提出應在「原始漢藏語」到「古漢語」之間新增「漢語前身」（pre-Chinese）的時代層次。

　　This paper discusses how we can make use of hie-sheng, rime groups, and tone classes in any study of Archaic Chinese, as well as the concept of sound change, as based on Duan Yucai’s liushu yinyun biao <六書音韻表>. Duan’s work has made a great influence in the study of Archaic Chinese phonology in the past hundred years. In addition, it is suggested in this paper that an intermediate stage, pre-Chinese, be set up between Proto-Sino-Tibetan and Archaic Chinese.
