在構擬上古音時，採用 Sergej Jaxontov（謝．叶．雅洪托夫 1960/1986：42-52）提出的 *-l- 假說的學者居多（後來李方桂（1971）和 Schuessler（許思萊 1974）等學者重構為 *-r-）。不過支持構擬 *-r- 的證據並不充分。在《安徽大學藏戰國竹簡》中，中古音來母「䜌」表示中古音二等韻牙喉音或重紐三等牙喉音聲母的詞。比如「䜌」與｛關｝和｛卷｝的通假例子就支持中古音二等韻和重紐三等來源於 *Cr- 之說，同時也顯示出至少在楚地的「䜌」具有 *K.r- 聲母。

　　Sergej Jaxontov (1960/1986) reconstructed Old Chinese *l- to account for the contrast between division-I and division-II in Middle Chinese. In recent years, most scholars follow the *-r- hypothesis by Jaxontov. However, there is little direct evidence to support the reconstruction of *-r-. Fortunately, we can find some phonetic loans related to 䜌 in Anda jian. 䜌 in Anda jian represents division-Ⅱ and division-Ⅲ Chóngniǔ B words with velar onsets such as 關 and 卷. These phonetic loans show that 䜌 had *Kr- onset at the time.
