「政治經濟學」在中國大陸的發展和政治事件息息相關，因為它是實踐馬克思社會主義的指導理論。由於馬克思理論缺欠實踐部分，而1950年代作為經濟計畫指導綱領的蘇俄政治經濟學教科書也宣告失敗，中國大陸只能「摸著石頭過河」，從試誤過程去尋找社會主義的實踐理論。本文發現：中國大陸政治經濟學在1979-2003年間的變革呈現出文化演化理論所闡釋的特徵，包括非預期的結果。

The Development of Political Economy is highly related to political events in China since it has being the directing theory for the implementation of Marxist Socialism. From the facts that there is no such an implementation theory in Marxism and that the Russian Textbook failed as a guideline for Economic Planning in Russia during 1950s, China has to find its own way for implementing Socialism via the process of trial-and-error. This paper finds that the development of Political Economy in China, 1979-2003, fits most conditions of culture evolution and leads to an unexpected result.
