Since the late 1970s, Taiwan's government actively implemented cultural policies and focused on Folk Culture. Before this, Taiwan's Folk Culture was not valued by the government under the Chinese Nationalism; however, why did the government start to focus on Folk Culture? The thesis focuses on Folk Culture policies from the post-WWII to the 1990s, and discusses the relationship between the policies and Nationalism. Also, taking Taichung Folklore Park as a case to explore the representation of Folk Culture; furthermore, how it is reinterpreted with the development of Nationalism in Taiwan.
