「專業倫理學」雖然已發展成一門獨立的學科,但它並非一個新的名詞,早已潛藏在規範倫理學的範疇裡。它如應用倫理學般是屬於特殊倫理學的範疇,即將一般倫理學裡規範倫理學的理論與原則應用到專業領域所牽涉之倫理議題與情境。從這個角度言,它更能發揮與落實倫理的實踐意涵。因而從教育的觀點言,它如一般倫理學般重視的是受教者「價值理性」及知、情、意、行的全人開顯。從專業倫理是奠基於人性的自我要求之角度而言,它屬於自律;從它的專業特性與要求的角度而言,它屬於他律。由於專業倫理也有其應有的基本概念與理論,為更有系統與嚴謹地建立其應有的這些基本的概念與理論,未來應朝向發展為一門有系統的學科努力。
Professional Ethics has been included in the realm of Normative Ethics for long years. It is not a new term and has become an independent disciplinary. As Applied Ethics, Professional Ethics is discussed and studied within Special Ethics, a disciplinary that applies the theories and principles in Normative Ethics to different professions and studies the ethical issues and situations that follow suit. From this aspect, Professional Ethics is a better area to put theories of Ethics into practice. Thus, in teaching students in this disciplinary, the areas of special attention should be set on the value rationality of the students and the whole-person education and development in the students' cognition, emotion, awareness, and behavior.
