英文摘要
This "annotation and commentary" is based on the commentary (jianzhu) by Li Kung-huan of the Song. The paper begins with an explication of the origins of the style of T'ao's Expositions up the Reading of History. It proceeds to: 1) interpret the more obscure passages; 2) substantiate by reference to other sources the historical facts that T'ao describes; 3) find and demonstrate interconnections between T'ao's poetry and prose; and 4) supplement and correct both modern and earlier commentaries.
