本研究以文獻分析銜接個案符號分析,試圖將文學對偶進行視覺轉譯。在文獻分析上,針對對偶的定義,及其類型進行整理、歸納,再置於索緒爾、葉爾姆斯列夫及巴特等符號學者的表達結構概念,進行視覺轉譯的分析,找出需考量的因素;在個案符號分析上,再以這些因素進行相關平面設計作品的案例分析,曝出作品中視覺對偶操作的符號結構,最後通過這些結構形態及內涵的分類歸整,理出視覺對偶的操作性定義與操作方式。結果顯示,對偶,做為一種視覺修辭格,是以大小相等、結構相似的圖做兩相對照,形式上異同並存,意義上相似、相反、相對或相關,透過異同辨識,以延伸主題寓意的一種表現手法。操作次第則為:1.先確認對偶主題的寓意,2.主要視覺元素的選定,3.決定意義對照的關係,4.決定相同與相異處的比較形式,5.決定所使用的對照形式。
This paper conducted case analysis with Semiotics after literature review and tried to transform verbal antithesis to its visual pair, in order to clarify its definition and to expose how it works in visual design. The binary structure of signification by Saussure, Hjelmslev and Barthes were applied to find out the factors of transformation. These factors were then employed on the analysis of antithesis graphic design cases. It is concluded that visual antithesis is a rhetorical device using the image of same size and structure for comparison, similarities and differences were identified to reveal its connotation. The design process of antithesis defined as follows: 1) pick up the signification of the theme, 2) select key visuals, 3) determine the binary relation of signification, 4) determine the way for comparison, 5) determine its binary form.
