屏東竹田西勢覺善堂與六堆地方社會(1933-1945)

中文摘要
本文旨在探討日治時期覺善堂在六堆竹田西勢地區的發展及其所扮
演之角色,藉以究明鸞堂信仰對於六堆地方社會之作用與影響。首先,
指出竹田西勢聚落自清代以來面臨自然環境與災病時,地方社會所採取
的肆應方式,並透過法師公祠與鸞堂等民間信仰,以達到地方社會之安
定。其次則是透過覺善堂的成立經過與源流,指出日治時期六堆地區鸞
堂信仰的傳播與地方社會仕紳之間的關係,並說明覺善堂的主要人物背
景、堂務運作,以及其於地方社會教化與公益事業投入之情形。最後,
則是透過現有之資料說明1930年代末期覺善堂遭遇到「寺廟整理」時
的因應方式,並指出臨濟宗妙心寺派在其中所扮演的角色,以說明該派
在六堆地區進行宗教進出時,對覺善堂所造成的影響與轉變。
英文摘要
The purport of this text was that making inquires about the
role of Jue-Shan T’ang and its development in Shishih ChuTien Area of Liu-tui during the Japanese Colonial Period. So as
to investigate how is the affection and influence of Liu-tui local
society in regard to Luan-T’ang rituals. First of all, refer to how
is the reaction which was local society will take to action when
Sishih Chu-Tien Town was faced natural environments and
disasters since Ching Dynasy. Also, in the cause of getting the
more stable society; they relied on some “Folkway rituals” which
as Huat-Su-Kung Temple and Luan T’ang. Secondly, to explain
the background of main characters, their daily operations, the
moralization and how deeply community services for local
society from Jue-Shan T’ang. Then through understanding
origin and development of Jue-Shan T’ang plus the relationship
between the faith delivery of Luan-T’ang and Local Society
Gentry during the Japanese Colonial Period in Liu-tui Area.
Finally, we would know that how the reaction of Jue-Shan T’ang
was and how the role of “The Myōshinji sub-sect of the Rinzai
sect” played when Jue-Shan T’ang met “Temples Movement”
in the end of 1930’s which base on the material on hand. As
the mentioned above, we can understand that the affection and
transition of Jue-Shan T’ang when this denominational was
carrying out the religion extend in Liu-tui area.
