台南市內最早之二座關帝廟皆主祀關帝，故名稱相同；成立時間雖 然小別，廟址亦為相近之鄰巷，然皆出於明鄭。由於廟名相同，一般多 以大小關帝廟來分別所指，自明鄭迄今，二廟屹立原址，從未遷移；而 二廟雖有諸多相似之處，然市民往來崇祀，亦未嘗誤認。所可疑者，檢 索歷來重要之府志、縣志，其中記載卻不盡相同，遂使學者在研讀時， 常依所載而生誤判，故本文乃蒐集各種關於二廟位址之相關文獻及記 載，分析志書、碑記記載紊亂之原因，並釐清二者所應歸屬之區域。

Both of the earliest two Guandi Temples in Tainan City enshrined Guandi, thus, shared the same title. Although they were established in different times, and their addresses were one alley apart, they were both constructed during the Cheng reign of Ming Dynasty, so that they were distinguished by “Large Guandi Temple” and “Small Guandi Temple”. Both temples have remained at the same location since they were built, yet the local residents never mistaken them in spite of the many similarities they share. However, the county and government chronicles in the past years have different records, thus scholars have often make erroneous judgment when referring to the data on the county and government chronicles. Therefore, this study collected the data and records relevant to the locations of both temples, analyzed the causes of confusing data in the historical records and steles, and further clarified the locations these two temples.
