農業向為我國立國之本，雖說今日農林漁牧業的產值已不及工商 業，但仍為國民生計關係最密切之產業。因此，在研究臺灣經濟發展 時，不可忽略農業的存在；在纂修地方志時，必定於經濟志中專門論述 「農業」，不論是省 (市)志、縣志、鄉鎮志都應該纂修「農業篇」。 戰後所纂修之《臺灣省通志稿》、《臺灣省通志》與《重修臺灣省 通志》的「農業篇」，以科學論文的方式撰寫方志，並保存及積累大量 臺灣農業相關之史料；以「主題」的方式來論述臺灣農業的發展，對於 農業各層面皆能作深入探討，並有助於後續研究者作增補及延伸。本文 擬以三部志書之「農業篇」為論述對象，比較三部省通志在編纂綱目、 內容及資料蒐集的得失，藉此更進一步使「農業篇」之價值提高，而成 為認識臺灣農業的重要知識平臺。

Since the ancient times Agriculture is the foundation of Taiwan's economy. Although agricultural value of output is lower than industry and commerce, but still is the closest living industry. Of Taiwan's economic development cannot ignore the existence of Agriculture. Writing the gazetteer, we must be specifically discussing ‘Agriculture’ in the economic Chi. In postwar, ‘Agriculture Pian’ in Taiwan Provincial Annals Draft, Taiwan Provincial Annals and Rewritten Taiwan Provincial Annals, that had been written by the scientific method. It reserve for Taiwan's agricultural information. And it uses the theme to discuss Taiwan's agricultural development, that can in–depth study of all part of Agriculture and help the afterward researcher to supplement the content. This paper attempts to compare these three gazetteers’ ‘Agriculture Pian’ with regard to the styles of compilation, the content of writing, and the information’s quality. And this paper hope provide for good method, when tries to write new work that can improve the value of ‘Agriculture Pian’ and to become the important platform to understand Taiwan's Agriculture.
