礦業曾經是臺灣重要的產業，於明鄭時期已有開採記載。至清代隨 著臺灣鐵路開拓之進展，發現金脈而掀起一股淘金熱潮。及至日本殖民 臺灣更將礦業開發列為產業重點，奠定臺灣礦業穩固的基礎。基隆顏家 自清代移民臺灣，歷經四代即開創宏偉的企業王國，其過程亦足堪稱是 臺灣人克勤克儉的精神表現，亦是移民臺灣的民情縮影。本文依據國史 館臺灣文獻館所典藏發行之檔案圖書及有關基隆顏家的資料，探討顏氏 家族由基業邁向偉業的成功過程。

The mining was once an important industry in Taiwan. It has been documented during the Ming Zheng period.To the Qing Dynasty,with the development of the progress of Taiwan Railway,found gold veins and set off a gold rush. The industry focus on mining development from Japanese colonial rule the Taiwan, lay a solid foundation for Taiwan’s mining. Since the Keelung Yen family immigrated to Taiwan from the Qing Dynasty, after four generations that create a magnificent business empire, the process is enough to be called the performance of the Taiwanese spirit of diligence and frugality, is also a microcosm of immigrant sentiments in Taiwan. The paper according to the collection and release of the files and the books about the Keelung Yen family from the Taiwan Historica,investigate from the zero towards the great undertaking of the process of the Yen family.
