英文摘要
Han–Teng Wang‚ a ceramic master‚ had worked on several potteries around
Taiwan after his apprentice training. About 1946‚ he established Yi–Chen Pottery
and He–Xing Pottery with some of his friends and relatives in Ying–Ge‚ producing
traditional earthenware. About 1963‚ he left Ying–Ge and went to Miau–Li‚ Da–
Jia–Dung‚ and Sue–Li‚ all in Central Taiwan‚ as a master worker. In those places
he taught modern ceramic techniques for many potteries. These techniques rescued
the traditional pottery in those regions from the fate of decline. He returned
to Ying–Ge in 1981 and founded another ceramic factory‚ Tai–Hua Ceramic
Company‚ producing antique ceramics. In order to make large–scale vases‚ Wang
went to Sue–Li‚ in Nan–Tou County‚ for the second time‚ and invited some of the
local master workers to Tai–Hua. From then on‚ a lot of Nan–Tou master workers
continuously went to Ying–Ge and supported the development of the local antique
ceramics. Due to the lack of excellent master workers‚ Sue–Li pottery industry
became declined and finally fell rapidly. A common master worker could cause the
rising and falling of the local ceramic industry‚ Wang was certainly an amazing
legend in the history of Taiwan ceramics.
