Every country has his own history which has recorded the prosperity and adversity, the same as small town records its change process. We always regard the district chronicle book as an encyclopedia, it is not only the history printing but also a special type belongs from officer's document. There are many towns in Taiwan having publicized the chronicle books based on the situation of good economical development and the Taiwanese consciousness openly expressed after the Second World War. The Yuanli chronicle book composed successfully in 2002, they were many problems occurred to the chief editor before it was printed out. For example, residents were not willing to submit their traditional belongings freely; it was very difficult to build the standard to make sure whom could be wrote into biography; the mistakes or time mixed from the aged people memory. But We won the high evaluation by the Taiwan Document Counsel in 2003. We believed the reasons why the Yuanli chronicle book got the good praise finally are which shows of the following special features: it provided the special chapter to describe the historical dwellings, the completely detailed field study on grass handicraft, the plentiful selection from the bottom degree people to explore their achievements at Yuanle society, and the special interpretation of local proverbs and stories. Ultimately, we believe that the two times of word count, new academic study method and our good team work spirit wins local residents and the committee’s approval.
