Japanese novel “Golden Demon” was popular in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period. Even after World War II, “Golden Demon” has been adapted for many kinds of mass media in Taiwan. According these historical materials, this paper suggests spread tracks of “Golden Demon” in Taiwan after World War II. First, this paper introduces all kinds of movie versions of “Golden Demon” have been released in Taiwan, and points out how movie versions of “Golden Demon” influence Taiwan. Then, this paper introduces all kinds of Chinese versions of novel “Golden Demon”. Last but not least, this paper suggests how Taiwanese movie version, Taiwanese song version, and Taiwanese soap opera version of “Golden Demon” change the original work to the adaptations that fit Taiwan society. These adaptations reflect reflections on Taiwan society and history.
