現今無線電通信技術的發展一日千里，臺灣通信科技的發展最初是以 有線電通信作為島內與外地的聯繫，其後才進一步發展到無線電通信。本 文研究目的主要在探討日本海軍在臺灣建設無線電通信設施的歷程，以及 南進、西進軍事戰略的前置規劃與無線電通信應用的關聯。日俄戰爭後， 歐美諸國的無線電通信顯著地進展，日本也積極投入無線電通信的研究， 特別是配合日本海軍艦艇的軍事行動，而有長距離無線電通信的需求。在 此情勢之下，本研究發現日本海軍考量地理上南進與西進的戰略需求，借 重德國的科技，依序建設3個大規模無線電信所於東京附近的船橋、臺灣南 部的鳳山，以及佐世保的針尾。除了三大無線電信所的通信設施探討，其 中的鳳山無線電信所在軍事通信之外，也曾經與公眾電信結合，成為海上 船舶及臺灣內地民間通信的備援方案。

The radio communication technology has made advances at a tremendous pace today. The development of communication technology in Taiwan originated from using the cable communication as the connection for inside and outside of the island, followed by the further development of radio communication. The purpose of this research is to investigate the construction history of Japanese naval radio communication facilities in Taiwan, as well as the pre-planning military strategy of southern and western expansion doctrine with the application of radio communication. After the Russo-Japanese War, the radio communication technology had significantly progressed in European and American countries. Japan was also actively engaged in research for radio communication, especially cooperated with the military operations of Japanese naval warships, leading to the long distance radio communication needs. Under this situation, with the consideration of geographical strategic factors of southern and western expansion doctrine, and also relied on the German technology for support, Japanese navy constructed the three large-scale radio communication stations in the following sequences: Funabashi nearby Tokyo, Fongshan in southern Taiwan, Hario in Sasebo. In addition to the investigation of the communication facilities for the three major radio communication stations, the military communication of Fongshan radio communication station, once combined with public communication, becoming the alternative scheme for marine and civil communications in Taiwan.
