本文透過清代纂修的臺灣方志，探求關於官方成立的儒學，公立或私 立的書院典藏圖書的情形。對於儒學藏書的記載，發現僅有《重修臺灣縣 志》、《續修臺灣縣志》、《彰化縣志》、《淡水廳志》這四部方志記載 藏書目錄，儒學的藏書種類不多元、數量不豐富;早期的藏書是以科舉考試 為主，後期則增加許多集部的書籍。雖然有書目可供稽查，但關於儒學的 圖書管理模式，則付之闕如。 清代臺灣的書院中，唯一記載藏書紀錄的是《噶瑪蘭廳志》，仰山書 院的藏書不但一一條列書目，還針對書籍的版本作完整的說明，是清代臺 灣其他的方志藏書目錄所僅見。其他各地書院的藏書僅有文學方式的敘 述，缺乏詳細的完整紀錄。最後從清代方志的藏書記錄中，得知臺灣在清 朝統治時期的文教發展，明顯處於邊陲地帶的落後情形，整體文化與教育 事業較不發達。

It is a long history of compiling in Taiwanese local chronicles, from the next year of the Ching Dynasty in 1684 the compilation of “Taiwan Government Chronicle” by Yu-Ying Chiang, and it was through nine times of compiling chronicle action, at least 33 local chronicles were compiled. About the Confucian Studies, it was found that when the Ching Governed Taiwan, there were only thirteen academies of the Confucian study among eighteen administration areas, that only recorded in “Recompile Taiwan County Chronicle”, “Extend Compile Taiwan County Chronicle”, “ChangHuw County Chronicle”, “DanShui Chronicle” these four chronicles. After comparing, we know that the Confucian studies were not multiple in offi cial book collections, not even in a big quantity. The purpose of collecting books in early time was for imperial examination, it increased more volumes of books in the after time. Although there is book list to check it out, we don’t know anything about how to manage books of the Confucian Studies. About Academies in Taiwan in the Ching Dynasty, there is only one which is “Yang-Shan Academy” recorded in “Kemalan Chronicle”. It is not just listing the books, but also explaining the completed versions of books, and this is the only show from any other Taiwan chronicles in the Ching Dynasty. Books from any other else only states in literature way, in lack of detail book list record. It is obviously that the culture and education development of Taiwan in the Ching Dynasty was behind Mainland China, the whole body of culture and education was not prospered.
