1937年7月7日,日本軍方製造盧溝橋事變,發動對中國的全面性戰爭。 日本陸軍參謀本部並於 9 月,動員臺灣的部隊向中國戰線增援,而受召進入 軍隊、負責搬運糧食及彈藥的臺灣軍夫,亦在此時隨軍派赴中國戰場。本文 稿之受訪者李昌盛與許恭來為臺南出身,係 1937 年 9 月受日軍徵調的第一 批臺灣軍夫,同時也是目前僅存的歷史見證人。透過其回憶得以瞭解臺灣軍 夫在中國戰線被賦予的角色,與戰爭伊始日軍部隊之實態,尚且包含兩人退 伍後面臨的戰時生活和戰後人生經歷,實為重要的口述史料。
英文摘要
July 7th 1937, Japanese military plotted Marco Polo Bridge Incident, also known as the Lugouqiao (Lugou Bridge) Incident, launching the war to China comprehensively. In September, Imperial Japanese Army General Office mobilized Taiwanese army to reinforce the battle line in China. Taiwanese Imperial Japan Servicemen serving in non-combat capacity, responsible for carrying provisions and ammunitions, were also sent to battlefield in China. The interviewee of this manuscript, Chang-sheng Li and Gong lai Xu coming from Tainan, were the first Taiwanese servicemen recruited into Japanese army in September 1937, and also the only historical witnesses at present. Through their memories, we could understand what roles Taiwanese servicemen play at the front in China and the real situation of Japanese Army at the beginning of the war, which are very important oral historical materials including life they were faced with after retiring from the service and their post-war life experience.
