西田幾多郎（1870-1945）是日本近代具有獨創性思惟的哲學家，其雖積極的接受吸收西方哲學的各種思想，卻不隨波逐流的被西方哲學所牽引，在重要的關鍵所在，積極的汲取東方思想的精華，建構自己獨創性的哲學系統。換句話說西田哲學的獨創性是建立在東方思想所謂「思惟方式的轉換」的基礎上，以與西方哲學不同的見解，洞察西方哲學之論理困難的所在，進而重新解釋哲學的問題。

A philosopher of original thinking - Nishida Kitaro (1870-1945). Although he studied various thinking of western philosophy actively, he did not afford to be sharkled by western philosophy. In incritical time, he derived the essence from eastern philosophy to establish his original system of philosophy. In other words, the originality of his philosophy was based on the change of thinking in eastern philosophy. So the opinions are different from western philosophy. He had an insight into the difficulty of theory in western philosophy and then explained the problems of philosophy.
