本文試以明嘉靖、萬曆時期的吳中文人王穉登（1535-1613）的詩論及詩歌作品為範疇，探究王穉登如何在復古派末流過度強調「法古」從而走入「剽襲」的窮途，以及反復古的公安派末流過度強調「性靈」而淪於「空疏」末路的晚明文壇中，提出個人的批判及見解。本文的目的，除了對於王穉登詩論以及詩歌內容特色進行爬梳外，也希望藉由對於王穉登其詩歌觀點等相關研究所得之結論，反思關於晚明時期的文學史書寫，若跳脫僅以政治性思維的方式解讀，能否有更多面貌呈現的可能。

This study investigates the features of the poetry criticism and poetry of Wang Zhideng 王穉登(1535-1613), one of the important figures in the Suzhou literary field of the late Ming period. It also probes the impact of the later developments of the classical school (fugu pai) 復古派 and innate sensibility school (Xingling pai) 性靈派 on the literature of the late Ming period. It discusses why Wang Zhideng was marginalized in the mainstream literary discourses of the late Ming and the modern period. Additionally, this paper gives a new interpretation of Wang Zhideng's works and examines the role of these writings in the history of the literature during the late Ming period.
