2018-2019年的臺灣人物研究，共有186篇／本相關作品，涵蓋早期與清代社會人物、乙未戰爭人物、政治、經濟、跨域流動、社會領導階層與地方菁英、女性、原住民、宗教、學術、文人作家、藝術、體育、家族史等十四大類，其中以藝術、文人作家、政治、跨域流動、學術的篇數較多，反映學界目前的研究取向。 在眾多作品之中，有幾篇翻案文章，顛覆或補充過往對該人物的既定印象。其次，有不少研究者採取新穎的研究方法或多元視角來詮釋歷史，例如運用數位人文方法、以長時段檢視歷史、以日人視角觀察臺灣等等，提供後輩研究者不少可借鏡之處。 在研究趨勢方面，藝術人物、文人作家的研究成果豐碩，特別是國立臺灣美術館與國立臺灣文學館分別替美術家、作家蒐集資料立傳，編成系列叢書出版，是最引人注目的成果。跨域流動人物研究的盛行，顯示學界關注的焦點不再侷限於在臺灣的臺灣人，而延伸至臺灣人的海外經驗與在臺灣的外籍人士。 綜觀2018-2019年的臺灣人物相關研究，可發現目前臺灣史學界的研究趨勢，且不少作品無論在史料運用、方法、視角上均有可取之處，凡此均值得學界參考。

Between 2018 and 2019, there are 186 related studies on historical figures of Taiwan. These studies are grouped under 14 categories: early period, Japanese invasion of Taiwan, politics, economy, cross-border travelers, social leaders and local elites, females, aborigines, religions, academic purposes, writers, arts, sports, and family history. Among them, there are more studies on arts, writers, politics, cross-border travelers and academic purposes. Several studies involve in-depth exploration of events and records related to significant figures, giving a more comprehensive portrayal or a complete reversal of previous depiction. In addition, many researchers nowadays use innovative research approaches, such as digital humanities, and diverse viewpoints for historical interpretation, including longitudinal study and observation ofTaiwan from a Japanese perspective. These ideas and methods can be inspirations for future researchers. Regarding research trends, there have been fruitful studies on artistic and literary figures, signifying progress in cultural research. The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature have gathered materials for compiling biographies of famous artists and writers, respectively, and a series of books on them have been published. Research on cross-border travelers has also gained immense popularity, showing that the academic focus is no longer limited to local Taiwanese citizens but includes also overseas Taiwanese and foreigners in Taiwan. An overall review of related papers on historical figures of Taiwan from 2018 to 2019 shed light on research trends in the studies of Taiwan history. The use of historical materials, research methods and perspectives in many papers can serve as useful references for future studies.
