本文以唐代官員宦遊及其對家庭影響為核心，探討當時士人家庭的移動面向。內容分為兩個部分，首先考察造成宦遊的制度性因素；其次析論宦遊對家庭的影響。造成宦遊的制度性因素，主要在於本籍迴避、科舉考試與銓選制度的運作，其結果使得士子、官員常常奔波於住所、任所與京城之間，形成一股「以官為家」的宦遊群體。揆諸唐代文獻，常可見官員們終其一生不斷地轉換任職，其生活宛若蓬轉萍流，難以安頓。官員頻繁地調任、移動，首當其衝即是對家庭的影響，並造成家庭型態的改變。宦門家庭的內部運作，因宦遊而起了變化，居住型態與家族聯繫都隨之轉變。家中的依附成員，同樣承擔著隨官赴任的要務，「相隨即是家」，遂為唐代官宦家庭的生活寫照。在士族解體、故里沒落的研究觀點中，適當地導入宦遊因素，將有助於釐清過去不甚清晰的中古時期家庭史。

This article focuses on official travel and its influence on officials' families in Tang China. The argument is divided into two parts: the first part investigates how the political system of the Tang dynasty developed official travel and the later half discusses its influence on family lives. Due to the political regulations of the Tang dynasty, all of the officials undertook official travels: making ceaseless trips among their residences, assigned offices and the capital. Frequent transfer of office also had a significant impact on their family lives. Given the perpetual change of position, a new style of family life began to emerge during the Tang dynasty. Bringing the whole family along to the newly assigned place became a new social phenomenon. Such traveling official families completely changed the style of family life from that prior to the Tang period.
