通識教育若干問題之釐清與省思

本文旨在對通識教育的若干問題,作一釐清與省思,以:一者,做為學界研究通識教育的參考;二者,為通識教育的落實與推展,提供稍微精密與堅實的基礎。全文共分成八小節進行:第一小節為「前言」,旨在交代撰寫本文的兩個問題意識;第二至第七小節分別為「『通識教育』研究的正確程序」、「『通識教育之始』與『通識教育一詞之始』」、「『通識教育』一詞係『實然義』或『應然義』」、「『通識教育』一詞的『原初義』、『系統義』、『傳統義』與『主流義』」、「『核心』之二義與『核心通識課程』之二義」以及「本文所界定的『核心通識課程』之三面與三義」等。此六小節旨在列舉通識教育的若干問題,並對它們逐一加以釐清與省察;第八小節為「結論」,旨在綜覽全文,並作出總結,以簡要呈現本文的論點。本文的結論主要是:透過對通識教育若干問題的釐清與省思,當有助於通識教育的學術研究,往更精緻與更邃密的方向發展;同時也能對於通識教育的落實與推展,提供更為堅實的學理基礎,而使它得到持續發展與可大可久的成效。

英文摘要

This article has been focusing on clarification and reflection of some common problems and issues on General Education, which can be contributed as (1st) Academic research and reference upon General Education, (2nd) fulfillment and boosting of General Education somewhat by its sophisticated and firm base. 

The article is being composed of eight sections. “Introduction” is as the 1st section, it explains two problematic consciousnesses upon this essay; from 2nd to 7th section are “The correct procedure to research on General Education”, “The beginning of General Education” and “The start of the term of General Education”, “Should the term General Education be realistic definition or supposable definition?”, “The original definition, systematic definition, traditional definition and mainstream definition of the term of General Education”, “The two definitions of the term Core and Core Curriculum and the three sides and three definitions of Core Curriculum under the defining of this article” etc. During these six sections writer brought up the questions and explained them by clarifying and reflecting; 8th section “Conclusion” has outlined the argument and abstracted the essential points from this article. 

Finally, by clarifying and reflecting issues on General Education may help us while we do the research, and to develop toward a more sophisticated and profound way; meanwhile, It provides us a firmer academic base when accomplishing and boosting it, so that General Education’s development can grow bigger, stay persistent and last longer in effect.
